🧬 Science & Research: Detection of microplastics in human lung tissue using μFTIR spectroscopy

Another work of science pointing to the alarming effects of human related environmental pollution that has a direct impact not just on both flora and fauna across all ecosystems but on our very own health as well. The globally increasing concentration of airborne micro plastics that accumulates in human lung tissue exposes another level of severity in addition to the contamination of the oceans and their faunal inhabitants as well as livestock and the fruit and vegetables plants provide.

📝 Article: We’re in Danger of Losing Our Most Important Resource

Mind stimulating writing about the commodity of trust and how the recent development of science, politics, technology and business has been eroding this precious resource through shortsighted exploitation.

There’s an ominous recurring theme here: The very technologies we use to determine what’s trustworthy are the ones most under attack.
[...]
Trust is the scarcest commodity in the world. Nothing else comes close.

Nevertheless, mankind has misplaced its trust since the dawn of time when the serpent seduced Eve to eat from the forbidden fruit and she in return served her husband, Adam, who was without doubt.

What has been changing in the more recent past is that we lose trust in our own senses because the deceit mankind develops becomes subtler and subtler. A yoghurt might taste like strawberry but never has it seen a real fruit before. A bag might smell like leather but never has it seen animal skin before. A dress might feel like cotton but never has it seen a plant before. A shopping mall might sound like the ocean or a forest stream but never has it seen water before. A movie might display landscapes and people but not for one second has a real piece of nature or a human been filmed.

We’re in Danger of Losing Our Most Important Resource
It’s not oil or eggs or toilet paper—but something far more precious.

In 1920, shortly before [William Vanderbilt] died, he was quoted in the New York Times saying, “My life was never destined to be quite happy. . . . Inherited wealth is a real handicap to happiness. It is as certain a death to ambition as cocaine is to morality.”
